Oil on Board
James Kay was born in Lamlash in 1858 and died in Dunbarton in 1942. He began his working life in an insurance office but soon began studying at the Glasgow School of Art. He first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1894 and in Holland where he attained some renown with his townscapes and coastal subjects. He was an active member of the Glasgow Art Club and close to the Glasgow Boys, though never one of them. He won the gold medal of the Societé des Artistes Francaises in 1903 and in the same year won a gold medal at the Exposition Municipale des Beaux-Art de Rouen.

Tower lived from 1903 to 985. He studied nder William Rothenstein at the Royal College of Art and pained landsapes and church works. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy, New English at Club etc and had one man shows at Leicester, Walker's and Beaux Art and Leeds Galleries. Public ollections of Carlsle, Leeds a Sheffied hol his wok. |

| Dereck Clarke |
Clarke was born in 1912 and now lives in Edinburgh. He studied at the Slade in London and was a lecturer at Edinburgh of Art. He now paints full time. He has had many one-man shows and regularly submits to the Royal Scottish Academy and RSW.
